first snow!

just found out that my astronomy final isn't cumulative, it's just on one chapter. so that reduces finals week stress by about 20%. also, i've already found and gotten approval on a topic for my 3-4 page english final. there's another 10% right there. i'm almost looking forward to finals, if only because once they're over i have a sweet, sweet month of nothing but hot chocolate and holiday cheer! god, i get so into christmas...

dad's visiting gambier today through friday. i'm excited about family time and real food :D it's always interesting when an outsider comes to the hill, gets us thinking about what our wacky lives must look like through other eyes...

also, the wheels have begun to turn for me becoming section editor for arts & entertainment in the collegian (student newspaper) next semester. i'm currently the a&e editorial assistant, and no offense to my boss, but i can do her job way better than she can. so i'm really glad she's going abroad next semester, i can finally put my ideas into action and make my section not blow nuts anymore. plus i have to admit i'm looking forward to being in charge. i mean i'll have a staff and everything.

i got off of facebook for thirty seconds and checked out livejournal for the first time in like four months.
excuse me while i die of shock/sleep deprivation/overcaffeination/unhealthy obsession with the fact that it snowed today.
i don't know if anybody even reads these damn things anymore, but i'm considering clambering back into this relic of a bandwagon...

Thanksgiving was wonderful, as usual. I love my wacky little non-family (aka my mom's circle of friends and their children that have become aunts and uncles and cousins to me with whom we always spend Thanksgiving). We missed Charles a lot...

So now that it's officially Christmas season, I'm getting jazzed beyond belief. I absolutely. Love. Christmas. I'm busting out the candy canes and the Nutcracker CD and watching How The Grinch Stole Christmas and loving all the Whos down in Whoville and pestering my mom to get the tree and brainstorming for Christmas shopping...

Oh boy. I feel sparklier already.

I'm about to start getting ready for PROM! Yay. I had a dream last night that I was going to prom with Toby, only he was chubby and blonde.

Also, tomorrow's Mother's Day. Fuck.

Also also, when I went to bed last night, I thought about how it was the last 8 hours of sleep I was going to get in quite a while. That was a sort of depressing thought.

I would kill for a foot massage right about now.

dear people who care about my life (or don't but read my livejournal anyway),

i'm going to prom with brian (my "gay boyfriend") and am oh-so-excited about buying a pretty dress and getting a pedicure.

also, i'm trying this whole new thing where i handle a certain sticky situation with maturity, dignity, and strength... we'll see how that goes.

know what i'm about to do? i'm going to joseph beth and i'm a-gonna buy a copy of angus, thongs, and full-frontal snogging. aah! that book was my life in 8th grade. i feel compelled to read it again. also to eat oreos with peanut butter. because when you're ten years old, "the parent trap" is just about the best movie ever.

homework? what homework? just kidding, i've actually been getting a lot of work done. slowly but surely. i won't bore you with the details.

i got in my first car accident yesterday. i'm okay, it wasn't that bad, but it shook me up pretty bad. christopher came over and we watched van helsing and ate indian food and i felt better. <3

i'm excited for valentine's day for a change. i gots me valentine! lily & i (single as always) are each other's valentine this year. hurray!
